Bus tells milkcrate totting cyclist to remove crate

Milkcrate enabled cyclist punked by transit

Cyclist, Robert Wilson, was told by an Ontario, Canada bus driver that he could not mount his bike onto the buses rack with his milkcrate attached. Mr. Wilson has ridden thousands of miles with his bungeed on crate and refused to remove his trusty crate.“If it hasn’t fallen off in 2,000 miles, how do you figure it’s going to fall off the bus in three blocks?”, said Robert Wilson. The bus company cried about liability. Mr. Wilson asks, “For the city to install bike racks on buses, then deny people the right to use them, it’s flagrantly wrong.” Reported by the Hamilton Spectator –> crate keeps bike off bus rack

Scooters <3 milkcrates

Scooters love milkcrates too

We’ve had bikes, motorcycles, cars, hovercrafts, shoes and other forms of transportation. For some strange reason the scooter community has been absent. Scooter Lust has solved that problem. –> beauty and the beast

Milk Crate recycling…not recycling milk crates

Recycling with the aid of milkcrates

We all know recycling is a good thing. But you probably forget that without milkcrates you’d have nothing good to carry all the crap around. There’s nothing like a white kid doing a good gansta pose to catch my attention. –> Give incentive…

Milk crates are everywhere online…

Crateman on the Water Tower

Milkcrates are all over the internet these days, and I’ve been seeing hits on my crate radar from every corner of the web. The above picture is from Australia, we’ve seen some of these before, but 12ozprophet.com‘s forums have a nice little gallery of the lot.

Something called crookedbrains.com has a great post with all kinds of crate creations. –> How creative can you get with crates

One of my favorite sites, makezine has recently posted a milkcrate post as well. –> Milkcrate chandelier and roundup

Milkcrate Peeping Tom

Milkcrate assists peeping tom

Local news is probably one of the worst things about our current society. In this amazing dramatization they’ve recreated a milkcrate boosted pervert, who was caught by local police. Also, his face looks like a bad 3-D scan. –> Fischers police arrest alleged peeping Tom

NY Times, video about a milkcrate hoop

NY Times video about milkcrate hoop

I’m fairly certain that most people think that my fascination with milkcrates is more than a little silly. The NY Times is a respectable media outlet – and they just posted this little video about some young boys who posted their very own milkcrate basketball hoop in Brooklyn. See, I’m not the only one interested in such things! See the video here –> Milk Crate as Basketball Hoop, a Symbol of Urban Ingenuity
