The zine started in the Winter of 1993 with Issue #1. #2 followed, and then #3, pictured above. #4 took a long time to complete. #5 was started and then abandoned. So, #6 came out next. Cr(e)ate by Tim Quirey

Tim Quirey - Cr(e)ate

I got an email this week from me Tim Quirey, the author of “Cr(e)ate” which is a book of photography of milkcrates all over the world. His work took him to Morocco, New Zealand, London, Paris, Barcelona, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Canberra. I’m so siked this has been done, and I hope to feature Tim in the future. Support the crate love everywhere!

Home Decor, the crate way

I just found this oddity. “Milkcrate.net: The Leading Home Decor Site on the Net” It’s just a link/ad page, but strange for sure.

The future looks bright

Reid and the crate family

In the north of Jersey a milkcrate family was brought to life by Ried Bingham. See the video making of here.

Crate buttons

Crate Quinn

Crate Quinn

I don’t know if you’ve been playing Quinn or not, but I made some milkcrate style graphics for it. Download here. Just drag and drop into the quinn window and then you can play milkcrate style. Quinn got crushed by those fools who own the rights to Tetris. But you can still find it online, it’s free.

UPDATE – Quinn is now legally available again! Thank goodness. Get it here–>Quinn

Future primitive

Future primitive

Milkcrates and skateboarding go way back. Proof positive: Future Primitive, circa 1985. Lance Mountain down with the crate lifestyle.

Chi(crate)town

Chicago street musician

I spent last week in Chicago. Almost all the street musicians, and pan handlers rock the milkcrates. This gentleman near the Niketown store, had a sweet milkcrate set up, and some crazy patent leather kicks.
