Crate Cruisers from Brooklyn

brooklyn-cruiser-city-bike-2

Bikes and milk crates go together like chips and dip–it’s hard to do it once you’ve had that experience. The folks at Brooklyn Cruiser seem to know this and have been showing off thier bikes with wooden crates attached. They also offer a “handcrafted wooden bike crate” upgrade of their own for $79.99. That seems a little steep to me, but then I use a standard 6 gallon plastic crate on my bike.

Le Tour de Milk Crate, 2011

Eugene bicyclist is kicking ass and shooting photos of the amazing Le Tour de Milk Crate, 2011. He’s taken to the streets and is shooting everything milkcrate related. I won’t steal all his thunder, but I have to post a few gems from his blog here. Check out the full tour here–>Le Tour de Milk Crate, 2011 via Eugene Bicyclist

Crate Bike Storage & A Seat In One

Yael Linveh, a design student in Israel, created this sweet combo milkcrate storage rack & seat for a bicycle. Anything that transforms & uses milkcrates get double bonus points here. He calls it “Two-Go” and his design is build from “off the shelf” parts so anyone can make one for themselves. Two-Go by Yael Linveh via DesignBoom

What if your new bike came with a crate?

Bowerly Lane Bikes understands the need and desire for storage on your two-wheeled peddaler. Instead of giving you some zip ties and wishing you good luck, they’ve gone out of their way to provide a vintage-styled, wooden crate. It’s not technically a milkcrate, but we all know where the inspiration came from. –> Bowery Lane Bicycles: Handmade in NYC via Re-Nest

Crate cuteness!

Cuter by the Hour

Cute Overload

This little kitty in a milkcrate came by way via Cuter By The Hour. That got me thinking, I should check Cute Overload for crate pics…and then I found the above picture of the little doggie in the milk crate. –> Waiting for the Milk Delivery –> The redonkulousness continues…

My new crate bike rig

A while back, I bungeed this 6 gallon crate onto my bike. Problems came on a heavy load trip because my tie down wasn’t so tight. This new edition fixes a piece of plywood, which is then screwed to the milk crate. It’s super solid now.
